This new research proves just that. According to new information published by Independent Security Evaluators (ISE), at least five popular password managers, including 1Password, Dashlane, KeePass and LastPass, could potentially leak unencrypted credentials and passwords while they’re running in the background. How severe are these issues? Or are they nothing to worry about? Let’s break them down. It’s like leaving your keys under your PC’s doormat The researchers from ISE (read: white hats aka the good hackers) said that the password managers they examined don’t always encrypt and clear the password from a computer’s memory while transitioning from an unlocked (password manager is running) to a locked (user is logged out) state....

Because the 92nd Academy Awards have come and past, we thought it was a good time to look at the biggest winners of the latest ceremony. An Apple patent for the iPad Magic Keyboard shows a slot in the main hinge for an Apple Pencil. This would, in principle, address the concern some have expressed that there is no convenient place to store the Pencil while carrying the accessory. However, while it has been suggested this might be for a later version of the keyboard, I’m guessing otherwise … The patent has the innocuous title ‘Accessories for portable electronic devices,’ and an equally uninformative summary....

Penny Dreadful is being talked about quite a bit lately despite the fact it ended several years ago. Showtime is now working on a sequel series titled Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. The new series will take place in a new time period and setting but some of the same actors will be returning to play new characters. The original Penny Dreadful is still thought of as an excellent gothic horror series....

Pandora Radio for iPhone and iPad received a minor update today that brings a couple of welcomed improvements for users. The first notable new feature will automatically pause music when muting your iOS device, making sure you never miss a song when muting suddenly and forgetting to pause. The updated app also adds improved playback buffering for what Pandora says is ‘stutter-free’ music and the usual bug fixes and performance enhancements....

Macerkopf.de claims to have information on the media event surrounding the release of iOS 5. They say it will happen on the 14th or 15th week of the year – or early April. The move wouldn’t be a surprise as Apple has traditionally had its iOS beta unveilings during this time of year, the most recent being April 8th of last year. We’re expecting big things from iOS 5, including Maps, Speech and Cloud features as well as the answers to the ‘MediaStream‘ and ‘Find My Friends’ riddles....

It was thought that it would be something unique from Netflix, but it is now known that this is a new option that is available to all who have applications published in the Google Play Store. The behavior of the Netflix app started out strange. All devices that had root applied simply could not find the app for installation in the Play Store, something that confused many users. The truth is that this new feature is now an option that all programmers can use when submitting their applications in the Play Store....

After announcing the project earlier this year, popular music streaming service Pandora is today launching its new podcast service, powered by the Podcast Genome Project. The service will be rolling out in beta today for select users on iOS and Android. The Podcast Genome Project uses both human curation and artificial intelligence (AI) to solve the issue of discovery. Simply, most people don’t know what to listen to, or what content will be interesting for them....

Last fall, the folks behind the iPad drawing app Paper introduced a standalone iPad stylus that integrates with the app appropriately called Pencil. FiftyThree’s Pencil is designed to not only look like a good old-fashioned pencil, but the stylus even talks to the Paper software to decipher which end of the stylus is for drawing and which end is for erasing… like a digital pencil. Today FiftyThree showed off in a blog post a new feature coming to current and future Pencil and Paper users that the company calls Surface Pressure....

Parks & Recreation’s Tom Haverford was full of ideas for different businesses, though not all of them were actually good. With the help of his business partner Jean-Ralphio (and other investors, sometimes), Tom started many businesses, and they all ended up failing for different reasons. Through seven seasons, viewers also met some of Leslie’s co-workers and friends, such as Ron Swanson, Tom Davenport, Donna Meagle, April Ludgate, and Andy Dwyer, all of them with their personal style of comedy, but the one that quickly gained the hearts of viewers was Andy (Chris Pratt)....

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a publicly-released jailbreak, but this year’s Mobile Security Conference (MOSEC) in Shanghai made it clear that jailbreaking isn’t dead. MOSEC is a one-day security conference co-hosted by Pangu, the Chinese hacking team responsible for several of the most recent jailbreaks. This year’s event was scheduled for today, July 1st, and was hosted at the Grand Kempinski hotel, in Shanghai, China. As noted by Stephen Chan, near the end of the event, Pangu showed off Cydia running on the iOS 10 beta, indicating that an iOS 10 jailbreak is indeed in the works....
