Before going on a long trip by your car, it is important to get it checked to the servicing center. Pay special attention to the tire, and do not forget to change it, if it is worn out, and won’t provide sufficient grip on the road. In any situation, one should do a lot of research before buying a new tire for their car. One of the most important aspects while buying a tire should be its warranty plan.

If you have purchased a high-quality tire that has a long warranty cover, then you can be tension-free for at least two to three years. On the other hand, a carelessly purchased tire may cost you regular expenditure on its maintenance or even replacement. You can start your search for a new tire from Pantera. This article will help you know about its warranty plan.

Introduction

Pantera is one of the leading tire brands in the global market. It is a product of Tire Alliance Group, which is produced by the Century Tire company. More than two hundred local US tire-making companies have come together to form the Tire Alliance Group. On a broad scale, the alliance has a total of sixteen members. Pantera is the best example of a partnership and pooling resources.

Eligibility For Pantera Tire Warranty

The company provides a warranty till the 2/32” tread life of the tires of purchasers. However, customers have to follow certain criteria to avail the benefit of the Pantera warranty program.

While claiming for the warranty, the customers need to make sure that the tire is installed on the original vehicle.    The company issues a warranty plan for tires purchased after a particular dateline. That’s why make sure to find out your tire’s manufacturing plans.  The warranty includes defects in material related to workmanship, limited mileage warranty, road hazard, etc.  The warranty period will be valid only if a tire will have at least 2/32” of tread life remaining.

Material And Workmanship Warranty

Based on the criteria, the company provides a warranty on the material of the tire. As per the policy, if a customer finds any defects in the material and workmanship, then he or she can replace the tire. Instead of a particular period, the company has chosen to identify the warranty period based on the tire length.

Hence, a tire with a 2/32” of wear or within half a year, can be replaced for free. Even after the expiry of the warranty period, customers are eligible to replace with some terms for the next 60 months of tire manufacturing. Under this period, the credit amount will depend upon the remaining tread depth of the tire. After the expiry of the 100% replacement warranty period, customers have to bear the cost related to mounting, balancing, installation, or other taxes.

Limited Mileage Warranty

At times, the newly bought tire may get worn out even before its warranty period. In such a situation, customers are provided with an equivalent of Pantera tire made by Sentury company, on a pro-rata basis. The facility will be provided based on the percentage of left usable tread depth of your tire. The left depth should be below 2/32”. The company will also ensure that the tire is worn out evenly across the tread. According to another necessary condition, all tires must be rotated at least 3-4000 miles to keep the limited warranty. The company will not bear any extra costs related to mounting, balancing, installation, etc.

For the customers to use these warranty plans, they have to preserve all the original papers and documents as proof of purchase. In case the installed pair of tires are of different sizes, ie staggered tire size, then the warranty claim will be reduced by 50%.

CONDITIONS THAT AREN’T COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY

Some certain conditions and criteria deprive you of using your tires’ warranty plan. Some conditions are mentioned below.

Customers have to use the tires only for personal use. In case the purchased tire is used for commercial purposes, on motor homes or trailers, then it won’t be included in the warranty plan. If the details imprinted on the tire are removed intentionally, then they won’t be included in the warranty plan. The warranty plan will not be applicable if the tire has crossed the 2/32” of tread wear or its owner has replaced the same tire more than three times. Any damage to the tire due to the vehicle’s deficiency will not be entertained by the company. Apart from the tires included in the road hazard policy, any other tire is not liable for compensation due to road hazards. Tires that are run outside the USA cannot be included in this policy. Damage caused during mounting is also not covered in the warranty policy. Damage caused to the tire due to poor road conditions is also not included in the plan.
